Why do I need this information? You don’t. That is the point. YDOINTI is a research game about discovering things you never knew you wanted to know.
How it works
Each hunt is a short written mystery about the real world. Reveal the clue, research it wherever you like — books, archives, maps, encyclopedias, old newspapers — and come back with what you found. Your answer is checked on your device, kindly: spelling slips, accents and different ways of writing the same thing are understood, and you will be told when you are close.
Hints are always free. There are no ads in the browser game today and no leaderboards.
A note on AI
You could ask AI for the answer. But the fun is in finding it yourself. We never check, block or police how you research; YDOINTI is simply built for people who enjoy the search.
Privacy
There is no account, no analytics and no advertising tracking. Your progress, notes, saved references and optional discovery times are stored only in this browser, and you can export or delete them in Settings.
YDOINTI never sees what you browse. Links you open from a hunt are listed in that hunt’s research panel on this device so you can find them again. When you read a Wikipedia, Wiktionary or Wikisource page inside YDOINTI, your browser fetches it directly from the Wikimedia Foundation, under their privacy policy. Some reader pages come from the Internet Archive in the same way.
Files you check for evidence hunts are fingerprinted on your device and are never uploaded.

YDOINTI is developed and published by raiseCatError. It is free to play in the browser; apps for iPhone and Android are planned. See Contact for how to reach us.
Sources and credits
Every hunt is researched by hand and cites its sources after you solve it. Articles shown in the reader come from Wikimedia projects, mostly under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, with attribution and licence on each page.
Type is set in Inter by Rasmus Andersson, under the SIL Open Font License. The Case Closed seal’s lettering is drawn from Archivo by Omnibus-Type, under the same licence.
