Who we are

YDOINTI is developed and published by raiseCatError, run by Jai Sukka. There is no registered company. Contact details are on the Contact Us page. By using YDOINTI you agree to these terms.

The service

YDOINTI is a research puzzle game. It is played today in a web browser, and apps for iPhone and Android are planned. The iPhone and Android apps are not in the App Store or Google Play yet. For now the iPhone app will not be offered in the European Union. Each hunt is a short mystery about the real world: you read a clue, research it anywhere you like, and enter an answer, which YDOINTI checks. Hints, explanations and the sources behind each hunt are part of the game.

Free play

YDOINTI is free to play. Nothing can be bought yet: no membership or other purchase is on sale, and Squares and Stars cannot be bought at all. No account is needed to play; your progress is kept on your device. You may play for your own, non-commercial enjoyment. Please do not copy the hunts, their answers or explanations in bulk, sell them, or try to break, overload or misuse the service.

How hunts open

Where a hunt asks for Squares or Stars, these are points inside the game. A Star opens a hunt for good. Squares open a hunt for 48 hours from the moment you start it, and reopening a hunt for another 48 hours costs 1 Square. A hunt you complete stays yours. Squares and Stars have no cash value, cannot be bought or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money. We may adjust how they are earned and spent as the game develops.

Accounts

Accounts are not open yet. When they open they will be optional. If you create one, give a real email address you can receive mail at, keep your password to yourself, and do not share the account. You will be able to delete it at any time; the Privacy Policy explains what deletion removes.

Community and uploads

Community, profiles and picture uploads are not open yet. When they are, what you post will be public with your username, and Community Rules will apply. They will be published before Community opens, and you will be asked to agree each time you publish. Pictures, banners and GIFs are for members only and are checked by a person before anyone else can see them. We may hide or remove content, or limit an account, that breaks the rules.

Paid memberships

Two optional memberships are planned. Neither is on sale, and gifts are not available.

• YDOINTI Pro (US$4.99 a month or US$39.99 a year), a subscription that renews every month or every year until you cancel it.
• Founder (US$24.99 once (provisional)), a one-time purchase with limited availability. It is a permanent supporter identity and collectible, not Pro for life. It is planned to include 30 days of YDOINTI Pro and one 7-day Pro gift for a friend, to be confirmed at the time of sale.

What each includes is described on the Pricing page. When memberships go on sale, they will be sold in the YDOINTI apps for iPhone and Android, through the App Store and Google Play. This website has no checkout and takes no payments.

When memberships are on sale

• The store shows the price in your currency, including any taxes that apply, before you confirm. The prices above are reference prices in US dollars.
• YDOINTI Pro renews automatically at the end of each paid month (or year, on the yearly plan) and is charged by the store you bought it from, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; the membership stays active until the end of the month or year already paid for, then ends. See Cancellation and Refund.
• Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are also governed by Apple’s or Google’s terms, and those stores handle billing, cancellation and refunds.
• A membership belongs to the YDOINTI account that bought it and works wherever you sign in to that account. It cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money.
• When a membership ends, is cancelled or is refunded, its benefits stop. Hunts you have completed stay yours.
• If we change a membership’s price, you will be told before it applies to you, as the store you bought it from requires.

The content

The hunts, explanations, design and software are ours or used under licence (see Open-source licences). Quotations and linked sources belong to their owners. We check every hunt carefully, but facts can be disputed or change; tell us if you spot a mistake.

Research outside YDOINTI

Hunts send you to other websites. They are not ours, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Availability, warranty and liability

YDOINTI is provided as it is, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or end parts of the service; if a paid membership is affected, members will be told first. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of the place where you live.

Changes to these terms

We will post any change here with a new date. Changes that affect a paid membership will be announced before they apply.
